The Government’s latest land use data (see: 2022 Land Use Factsheet) illustrates how little of England is actually developed.

The data shows that only 1.3% of land is currently developed for residential use, compared to 91.1% of land undeveloped.

Interesting the proportion of land used for residential use is only just above the land used for community, industrial and commercial use (which amounts to 1.1% of land) and well below that in use for transport and utilities (4.4%).

Such evidence will help address the comments we come across from objectors claiming that housing developers are concreting over the entire country!
