We’ve secured planning permission for the change of use of an office building into a new Embassy (on behalf of the Government of Tajikistan). Whilst the proposals were contrary to planning policies, which identified a geographic area for diplomatic uses, we worked closely with local property agents to demonstrate a lack of suitable accommodation in the Council’s preferred location. Furthermore, evidence was presented demonstrating the unique circumstances why the site fully met the Embassy’s requirements. This evidence was accepted, and planning permission was granted for the change of use, as well as provision of diplomatic parking.
