Contour Planning has been commissioned to assess the regeneration potential of a large industrial site (2.3 hectares), including preparing a masterplan. Using our Urban Design and Planning skills we devised a scheme aimed at retaining and reusing many of the existing buildings, alongside a range of uses in new build accommodation. Key requirements of the brief were to maintain employment uses, improve the site’s connectivity with the surrounding area, and break up the overall land mass of the site into small development parcels, with access corridors between them. The masterplan plan is now being used to form the basis of preliminary discussions with the Local Planning Authority and local community groups.
